I was offered an opportunity by my school to write a Monograph on a “timeless human issue” Coming from a background where I have not been discriminated against on the basis of either race or ethnicity, I wanted to better understand the struggles of the people. Therefore, I chose the topic “Understanding the difference between Race & Ethnicity,” which is also the title of the monograph.

As the name suggests, it looks at the contradistinction of race and ethnicity, while also examining the causes and histories. This is illustrated by the use of several examples. One subsection of the monograph considers the “intersectionality” of race and ethnicity and its implications.
